My main difficulty in the last half century has been working out whether or not I was singing the right way.

A choir master will say "Move about more" or "Sing louder" but if I start dancing like a dervish it turns out that he was speaking to the 75% of singers who were standing like statues, and that my subtle movements were just right, before I started to exaggerate them.

Multimedia are the answer.

If I could afford a personal singing teacher, the teacher could criticize my singing. The only trouble is that the singing examiner has to consider many things at once, and it’s really impossible, or very difficult.

Multimedia are the answer. If you record yourself, then you can play it back as often as you need to be sure that you have analyzed one problem correctly. Then you can keep playing it back until you have dealt with the next problem, and so on. You will never have to try to consider 20 problems at once.

Singorama is a package that has appeared on TV and allows you to make full use of modern multimedia techniques. It contains books, recordings, software, and a mini-recording studio to check up on yourself, or to send CDs to friends once you are satisfied with your standard.

It doesn’t really matter why you want to improve your singing. Whether it’s only for singing in the shower, or for a career, or for a non-profit choir, you can improve your performance.

You may not agree with me that feedback is the most important. Perhaps demonstrations of the right way to sing would interest you more.

Perhaps you’d prefer full color illustrations in step-by-step instruction manuals.

Perhaps you would prefer software to develop perfect pitch. I wouldn’t because when you have perfect pitch you can’t sing in tune with another singer who has gone flat. I prefer good relative pitch, which allows me to adjust to other singers. So is the package useless? No. With the multimedia kit you can practice singing along with other singers, then record yourself on another track and analyze your performance.

Quite frankly, I don’t see any way that this package could be improved, but then - I’m not a singing teacher - I just have fun singing, and this package seems to have everything. It is certainly cheaper than paying for singing lessons, and the computer never loses patience or insults your singing.

These people offer four bonuses to sweeten the deal, but I’m not really interested. The main deal is so good that the bonuses are really too much.
